Yoga Month at Miraval

Celebrate National Yoga Month with Miraval all September. With innovative yoga classes exclusively for Yoga Month, you’ll be able to indulge as little or as much as you’d like. Make your yoga retreat about YOU. Reconnect with your personal yoga practice and get out of your routine – this is your chance to explore and challenge your mind and body.

Yoga Month Exclusives:

Equine Yoga | This class utilizes horses to encourage participants to unify mind and body through a guided sequence of movements both on horseback and on the ground. The horses serve to create awareness for individual muscle groups, encourage conscious breathing techniques, and identify areas of stress in participants’ bodies. By using horses, we also address issues of control, fear, trust, and vulnerability in the riders.

Peaceful Pelvis | Open to all students, this class focuses on the pelvic floor and the muscles that support and attach to the pelvic bowl. Students are guided to breathe into their pelvic bowl and to visualize the movement of the pelvic floor with their breath. Yoga poses and movements begin with a focusing on stretching and lengthening pelvic floor and pelvis-supporting muscles, then shift to strengthening exercises that go beyond traditional kegels. Class closes with a relaxation/restorative pose to allow the pelvis to fully relax and integrate the work.

Prenatal Yoga | Experience a prenatal yoga class that is focused on creating ease, confidence and awareness within an ever-changing body. Move with the freedom to acknowledge the bond and challenges that come from creating life.

Tai Chi: All Levels | This workshop will introduce guests to the essential principles of tai chi and chi gong for the benefit of health balance and well-being. Participants will come away with a simple routine and concepts to practice on their own.

Yoga off the Mat: All Levels | In our society Yoga is often seen as a series of physical poses, yet this ancient practice may offer as many benefits to our mental-emotional-social-spiritual state as it does to our physical one. Yoga, in Sanskrit, means “union” and it can be a transformative practice to help us become more mindfully embodied on and off the mat. In this educational class we will go off of the mat to explore some of Yoga’s spiritually rich teachings, how they can enhance our physical movement and propel us to live healthier, and happier, more balanced lives.
