Golden milk is a traditional drink with roots in Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. In its simplest form, it’s a blend of hot milk and ground turmeric – perfect over ice or as a hot cozy beverage before bed.


Servings: 8 cups | Calories Per Serving: 130 | Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups almond milk
  • 1 ¾ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 ¾ teaspoon ginger
  • 1 ¾ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ vanilla bean
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • ½ cup honey

Directions:

Method: Bring all ingredients to a simmer, then strain. Let cool and serve.

Curcumin, the main active ingredient in turmeric, has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a strong antioxidant. It helps to consume it with black pepper, which contains piperine, a natural substance that dramatically enhances the absorption of curcumin.
